The Kyrgyz State Historical Museum is a museum located in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. One of the largest in Central Asia. The museum was founded in 1926 as the first scientific institution of Kyrgyzstan. Before the museum activity, it contained the Council of People’s Commissars. Located near the government house on Ala-Too Square. March 5, 1927 opened the first exhibition. Originally called Central, in 1933 renamed the museum of local history. The name of the State Historical Museum was given in 1954. In the 60s it goes into a building built in 1928. The White House is the building of the Jogorku Kenesh, the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic. This legendary neoclassical building was built in 1985 as the Main Building of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Kyrgyz SSR. The building consists of seven floors and is externally decorated with white marble. After independence, the building was the official residence of the president. After Kyrgyzstan moved to parliamentary form of government, the building passed to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Panfilov Park – Among the attractions of Bishkek, this park is notable for the fact that, if you look at it from a bird’s eye view, it is impossible not to notice that it is built in the shape of a star. And it is no coincidence, because the park is named after Hero of the Soviet Union, Military Commissar of the Kirghiz SSR, Major General Ivan Vasilyevich Panfilov. House-Museum of M. Frunze – For more than seventy years the city bore the name of the outstanding Soviet commander Mikhail Vasilyevich Frunze. A Moldovan by birth, he was born and raised in Bishkek in 1885. The house where Frunze spent his childhood was declared a museum in 1925. Today, his status is preserved, as well as the true atmosphere of the time when the future commander lived here. True, the house itself as it “swallowed” another building that was built over it – a giant four-story building made of glass and concrete. The funds of the museum include personal belongings of the hero, documents, photographs, paintings, manuscripts, books and much more.
Oak Park. almost the same age as the city. Back in 1890, the first oak trees of the future park were planted on an area of 2.5 hectares by students of an agricultural school under the direction of botanist A. Fetisov, who arrived in Pishpek (the old name of Bishkek) from Russia. For many decades, the oaks have grown: in their dense greenery in the summer, residents of the city and tourists take rest, and nimble red squirrels jump on the branchy branches. In winter, the alleys of the park are covered with thick snow, and in autumn they are covered with motley falling foliage.
Monument to the revolutionary fighters. The central figure of the composition is Urkuya Salieva (1910-1934), an activist of social transformations in the south of Kyrgyzstan in the early years of socialism, killed by wealthy peasants. The monument was established in 1978.
